Cabins and motorhome pitch

For a simpler stay there are sleeping cabins with about twenty beds on the farm grounds – basic, without a kitchen, with shower and toilet in the community hall. There is also a motorhome pitch with electricity; it cannot be booked in advance and is first come, first served. Information and prices from the farm, +46 657 300 30.

Eating in the village

Café Bortom Åa in the America house at the farm museum serves coffee, home-baked bread, sandwiches and a light lunch (about 11–14) during the museum season, 1 June–13 September. It is the only place to eat in the village; out of season you cook for yourself. Remember that the nearest shop is in Los, thirty kilometres away – buy groceries before you come. During the craft festival in July, motti – the Forest Finn flour dish – is served with meatballs.

Holiday homes

Several of the houses in Fågelsjö and at Stationen are holiday homes used by their owners in summer and winter. Properties in the area come up for sale now and then through estate agents in Ljusdal, Sveg and Orsa. Ljusdal Municipality advises on building permits, sewage and fibre – see practical information.
