Ljusdal Municipality
Fågelsjö belongs to Ljusdal Municipality (just over 18,000 inhabitants), with its town hall in Ljusdal ninety kilometres away. The municipality owns the farm museum and is responsible for municipal roads, refuse collection, building permits, home care and schools. Children in the village attend school in Los, with transport arranged by the municipality.

The church
The village belongs to Los-Hamra parish in the Ljusnan pastorate, Diocese of Uppsala. Services are held in Fågelsjö chapel about once a month, and the chapel can be used for baptisms, weddings and funerals – it seats around 70. The adjoining churchyard is in use. Fibre: in 2022 Open Infra was granted state broadband funding from the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority to build fibre to Fågelsjö, Tandsjöborg, Hamra, Sandsjö, Lillhamra and Sjöändan, prioritised by Ljusdal Municipality. - Hunting: the land around the village is hunted by local teams; the moose hunt starts in early September. Take care in the forest then.
